iPhone Not Charging? Here’s What You Can Do

If your iPhone suddenly stops charging, don’t rush to replace the charger or battery just yet. Try these steps first — they might help you identify and resolve the issue quickly.

1. Check and Clean the Charging Port

Dust, lint, or small debris can sometimes block the charging port and cause poor contact. While you can try cleaning it yourself using a soft brush or a toothpick, we don’t recommend doing this without experience. Proper cleaning requires the right tools and technique. Improper cleaning might damage a working port and make the situation worse.

2. Visit a Professional Repair Shop

If cleaning doesn’t help, the next step is to bring your iPhone to a trusted local repair shop for a proper diagnosis.

What will a good repair shop do?

  • Carefully inspect the charging port to see if it needs deeper, professional cleaning

  • Use an amp meter to check whether the port is delivering power and whether it’s damaged

  • Recommend charging port replacement if necessary

⚠️ Note: Most iPhone charging ports are soldered to the motherboard, so replacing them requires micro-soldering skills. Not all repair shops offer this service — but YYC Mobile Expert can usually handle it on the spot, often within the same day.

If replacing the port doesn’t solve the problem, a technician will check for deeper issues, such as damage to the Power Management IC (PMIC). This requires board-level repair, which YYC Mobile Expert can also provide — typically within 1–2 days.

💡 Tip: If your iPhone has charging issues, book a professional diagnosis as soon as possible to prevent minor problems from turning into major repairs.
